For Girls will sex hurt the first time?

Well, i'm a teen going to 9th grade and before the summer ends i'm gonna loose my virginity. Can you guys please tell me if it will hurt or not? The first time i used a tampon it hurt but eventually slipped in easily. The second time hurt too much i guess because i was close to being done with my menustration, so i didn't use it. But in all honesty will it hurt?
