Should I lose my virginity soon? (kinda long)?

Okay, Im going to be completely honest here.. Please be open minded and honest too. I'm 16, soon to be a junior in high school. I'm an honor student in academic classes, and a pretty smart kid in general. I don't smoke/drink/do drugs etc. I'll just say I have a good head on my shoulders and my are priorities straight. I'm also still a virgin... But for the last few months, almost a year, my hormones have been going crazy to say the least lol :/ I always planned on waiting to lose it to someone I've been with for a while and truly loved/cared about. I've dated here and there but nothing too serious. Recently, I met this guy and we get along great. We've been seeing each other and we just kinda click. I'm not as shy around him like I am with most guys, I don't get as embarrassed, I don't have to dress up to impress him or anything, and he still complements me. He's 18 and just an all around nice and easy going guy. He's only ever been with one other person and he's pretty respectable (I know how most 18 year olds are when it comes to girls... lol). I'm really starting to like him. But anyways, it's really been driving me nuts lately and I just want to do it already... I feel as though I'm mature enough and ready, but I'm certainly not going to lose it to just anyone. Would it be okay or wrong to wait maybe a month or two before we did it? I just want to be sure my first time was with a decent guy, not just some random a**hole that wanted a piece. Also, this is probably going to sound slu*tty but I'm very eager to explore and mess around, should I just do it? I would only be with that one person. And I would definitely be using protection (condom/birth control)! I definitely DON'T want kids anytime soon. I really want to just do it but I don't want to make myself look bad or slu*tty or somehow get a bad reputation for losing it young (I live in a little drama filled town where everyone knows each other as well as each other's business, it sucks!) Also, how old were you when you lost your virginity, and how long were you and the person together? Any answers, advice, and opinions are appreciated! Thanks in advance!
